Unable to use an air rifle until police approval is granted - that in itself could take over a month, not even under supervision so not the type of club to turn up and see if you like the hobby or not. Club is run for members only and advertised times are subject to change - members are informed of these changes but "potential members" are not thanks to Jay (a committee member) for the clarification on that. This has resulted in a long and wasted return journey twice. A few local shooting colleagues tried to put me off going to the club but I didn't want to listen and instead, give it a try and take it as I found it. As a former HFT shooter and medal winner (years ago) I really wanted to join a new local club, have some fun and get back to competition shooting. However, not only did I not feel welcomed, I felt I was being treated as a complete novice - definitely NOT the same club I was a member of many years ago. Such a great shame as the premises has potential. I was very surprised too that the club does not hold it's own club cylinders for members, a couple of 12 litre bottles would be useful. 100 membership fee and additional range fees every visit is something to consider also !
