Indian Taj Restaurant

To be honest I wasn't as impressed as I expected to be, we had a sharing platter for 42 for 2, which was reasonable however the food was pretty average. Also the staff disputed that a deposit was paid, even though it was required when booking because there were 11 of us, found this to be pretty annoying and unprofessional as it was shown on a banking app. Maybe it wasn't as good as it was a Saturday evening and there were alot of take aways coming in and out. Had been recommended by family who usually go through the week.

We have eaten in several times and have had takeaway delivered on three occasions. Every time the food was delicious, not your usual curry restaurant where everything looks the same. The takeaways were delivered either on time or a little early (no bad thing!). The care with packing and delivery is outstanding. Never had a leaky container or spill. This is surely down to the very good quality packaging and the fact the containers are all packed neatly in a secure box. Definitely recommended.

I have eaten in the restaurant before but was the first takeaway I've had. What can I say it was amazing very fast delivery food to die for and enough for tomorrow

Now seems to be under new management. I had reserved a table a week in advance but when I turned up they had to move other guests and push two tables together to make space for us. This would have been ok if the tables hadn't been then extending in front of the main entrance to the restaurant. We regularly had groups of people crowding around our table whilst we ate and they waited for their tables to be ready. At one point we had 10 people standing around our table because their tables also weren't ready for them. This blocked the entrance/exit and customers and staff were finding it hard to move around the restaurant. Certainly not the surroundings you would want for a nice meal out. This was mentioned to staff who gave a half-hearted apology but didn't really seem to care. The food itself was also poor. There was no depth of flavour and as someone else said, it seemed like they had just added a jar of sauce to some chicken. I've had better Indian meals from the supermarket ready meal section.
