Had a great time in a super supportive "focus on fit" course. We came up from Bristol and it was well worth the trip. Carol really knows her stuff and we got a lot of personalised advice as well as many types and tricks from her vast experience dressmaking.

What a gem of a place - stuffed full of amazing fabrics, haberdashery, crochet kits. Carol is so helpful and offers advice. Does dressmaking classes too. It really is a wonderland for crafters. The choice of fabrics is amazing

Ive recently moved to Scarborough and have been delighted to find this place. The classes are excellent and my first online class today (due to lockdown) was really good. Carol helped us all through the steps to complete our projects. The selection of fabrics and all other sewing related stuff is great. Well worth a visit.

I have had the pleasure of one to one pattern fitting training with Carol at Material Moves. I brought along projects that I was having difficulties with and we were able to go through the individual issues and find solutions to enable the projects to move forward. I now have a comprehensive range of body measurements I can use. We were able to compare these to a whole range of patterns so I could see what routine adjustments I would need to obtain that perfect fit. The setting is welcoming and bright with excellent facilities. First rate workshop delivered by a skilled and competent expert. Carol has a great selection of fabrics on site, so have come away with additional projects to work on. A great investment.

Material Moves is an Aladdin's cave for dressmakers and fabric collectors. This shop has an amazing selection of fabrics for all occasions, which is so hard to find these days. Having just finished a 3 day workshop Focus on Fit with Carol I have a calico toile of a dress pattern which fits me with all my lumps and bumps. With this I will be able to make it in a variety of fabrics, changing the neck line and sleeve lengths for different looks. What a gem of a place - GBSB here I come!
