Visited Scarborough for three days in town centre accommodation (July 19/21) My stay was ruined by the screeching seagulls 24/7. Apart from the noise, their droppings were everywhere. Sometimes on the heads of unsuspecting people. In the main street, shopkeepers were cleaning mess from their shopfronts. Any empty premises with ledges provided a haven for the bird's nests. Unless this problem is addressed I will not be visiting Scarborough again.

Although my phone said there was a tourist information centre it did not exist. I have a feeling that it is in the booking office of the open air theatre. I asked local caf for directions and was directed to Brunswick centre to be told on arrival that it's not been there for SEVEN years. To say the least I was not impressed that an area like Scarborough did not have a T I C.
