I am very happy with the kindness shown by all the staff towards my grandmother who has recently moved in to norwood. I was particularly touched by the very thoughtful present she was given for Christmas which showed how well the staff have got to know her. Thank you all very much.

Friends and I have been visiting a resident since Social Services placed her here in the summer. We have several concerns, the most serious of which is that the lift has been broken for over 6 months. A brusque member of staff told me engineers are unable to mend it. You can go up in it but not down. Someone has to come up and hold the outer door closed in order for it to go down. Imagine how confusing and upsetting this must be for elderly residents, with varying degrees of dementia. The lift has also always had one or two bins inside it - a tall yellow wheelie bin and a smaller white sani bin. A very unsatisfactory state of affairs.

Norwood House is a fantastic building. It has a lovely homely feel as soon as you enter. All the staff greet you with a smile and nothing seemed to be too much hassle for them. Such a good report between staff and residents, I would be more than happy for a loved one to stay there.

My stepfather has been very happy in Norwood House for 3 and a half years. I visit him on a regular basis and I am made welcome at absolutely any time of the day. He is 97 years old and is treated with respect and consideration of anything he wants or needs. He has on a number of occasions had chest infections which is his weakness, but the care that he did receive and does still receive is always outstanding. The staff and management are excellent and families are always made to feel welcome. I cannot thank them enough for the care they provide for him.
