The Helaina

Lovely place to relax, welcoming and friendly staff, great location and views, clean and tidy room, nice breakfast I would like to thank Luki, who was doing everything professionally with a lovely smile. the room was much smaller than we expected, and the bathroom was as well.

Rooms: Not the biggest room but it had everything we needed and very clean. Plenty of drinks to choose from . Walkability: I struggle but found it if relativity easy if I took my time.

Was a little disappointed to be honest as I had high expectations from the reviews. When booking we were offered two rooms, a small double and a double, I opted for the double at a small additional cost. Upon arrival (early), we were given a parking permit and were able leave our luggage. Coming back to the Helaina later we were allocated room 1 which in our opinion is small. There were nice touches in the various teas, coffees and hot chocolates on offer, but we did soon start to notice things in the room that were not quite right, firstly the toilet seat was loose and slipped when sat on it (reported), secondly we noticed that the cover on the shower indicating hot/cold was missing, lastly the thermostat would not switch off the heating which meant that the room was boiling. The hotel itself is very well presented, the breakfasts were fantastic with its offering but slightly disappointed with the a) the size of the room and b) the issues encountered. Would return but would request a sea room and check the heating. Food & drinks: Breakfast was great
