The Highlander

Four of us visited yesterday looking forward to a nice lunch after reading some nice reviews, unfortunately we left quite disappointed, the place could do with a lick of paint, furniture needs a coat of varnish and the toilets could do with a revamp , we waited around an hour for our food, to say it was very quiet we thought this was a bit of a wait, when it arrived there was no apologies for the long wait ,the the young lad didn't even know what kind of meat was in my baguette, he passed the meal across the table in front of my company nearly spilling the food from the plate which was quite rude, the food was average, whilst we was waiting for our food I requested another couple of pints but the barman brought the pints over plus another two drinks for the ladies which we didn't ask for, so overall a disappointing visit.

Had Sunday lunch. Beef was really tender. Veg was cooked well but yorkshire was tough. Good value. Place could do with a bit of a do over. Maybe swept up outside as was messy, especially the green covering near the stairs. But nice food, very friendly and lovely staff.
