Scarborough Garden & Property Services have just erected a new garden fence for me. I am very very happy with the standard of service I received. The fence is of excellent quality and the team that installed it were friendly and professional. They tidied up when they finished and left the place spotless. Would highly recommend them. A New Fence and a Very Satisfied Customer Thanks to Scarborough Garden & Property Services After a thorough mauling of fences by Storm Gladys (named after my Mum but she was rarely that angry). I needed help! Normally I put in new posts myself when required but the damage was extensive and I just couldn't face it this time. Someone told me about Damian Kelly who ran a gardening business in Scarborough. 'Gardening business!?' I thought of weeds being pulled out, bedding plants, hedges and lawns getting trimmed but it seems they do fencing too. After discussing the various options by phone and text, a plan was quickly agreed and a keen quote given the same day a Wednesday. We could have had concrete posts and larch-lap panels but the final spec was vertical feather-board on horizontal rails and 4 x 4 wooden posts which have a 15-year guarantee. All materials are pressure treated against water ingress and rot. 'It'll be done by Friday,' was Damian's promise and sure enough all the materials were dropped off in the garden the next day. As well as the forecast bad weather there were other problems to be overcome such as a ceramic drain to safeguard right under the post holes and some seriously hard concrete at the boundary with an electrical sub-station. For the latter a substantial percussion drill with power unit had to be hired as a normal one just wasn't powerful enough. A thicket of prickle bushes had to be cleared before a start could be made. Despite unrelenting rain throughout Friday, the job was completed on said day, along with a repair to a second fence, arranged separately. In spite of the extra work and hire charges, the price remained as quoted. I must say it's a solid job and looks great as well as bringing peace of mind for the storms of the future.
