Licorella on York Place

Came in on a whim for a birthday meal, staff were lovely and polite, nice atmosphere but the food was below par. I was too polite to send it back (on review i wish i did as it was very expensive) but the squid ink pasta was pungent with fish aroma and I couldn't eat it in fear of food poisoning and the fillet steak was cold on the inside and stringy. The maragrita i ordered tasted of cheap tequilla and had black bits floating in it. A glass i was given for my water had a dead fly in it. Super disappointed overall.

Exquisite food in a relaxed and charming environment. Attentive staff and a wonderful selection of seafood. Didn't appreciate the service charge being added to the bill (only two of us dining) - that should be down to the customer to add if they so wish.

Can't rate this place highly enough! Wonderful, friendly staff, amazing food...and our favourite paella negra! As a seafood-loving family, this place was pretty much heaven, the only problem being that we wanted to try everything on the menu! Although there are meat dishes and vegetarian dishes too. We actually only stumbled on this restaurant by accident, but we're so glad we did. Also we have a bit of a family running joke...we always order drinks and a jug of water when we visit somewhere. The (paid for) drinks arrive, the (free) tap water never does. Except here! And all served with a smile! Thank you so much...we'll be back next time we're in Scarborough! :-)
