Weve just arrived home after the most relaxing weekend away at Windmill Lodges. We have always been a bit apprehensive about taking our two dogs on holiday with us as our German Shepherd is extremely nervous and can get quite vocal and scared if shes around too many people / other dogs. I found Windmill Lodges on google and loved the idea how there are only 7 lodges, two of which are pet friendly meaning that we wouldnt have to worry about encountering many people and their dogs. Wow, what a weekend its been. It has honestly felt like we were the only people there as it was that quiet and peaceful. Our two dogs absolutely loved their stay there as the lodges are very spacious and we really appreciated the security around the lodge as the decking had gates so we could let our dogs roam around freely without worrying theyd escape. There was also lots of greenery next to our lodge which felt like our own garden and the doggies loved playing a bit of catch on there and relaxing in the sun. Upon arrival we were really impressed with how clean, neat and tidy everything was and we also absolutely loved the complimentary items that were on our dining table (Apple and Elderflower juice, crisps, and some Lindt Easter chocolates that went down a treat, some milk and two bags of local made dog treats which our dogs absolutely loved) they also provided dog leads, dog poo bags, dog towels and dog bowls which was amazing and handy to know for next time as we wont feel like we have to bring as much for our pets. It was such a lovely touch and we really appreciated that so thank you. The hot tub was incredible and a lovely way to relax on an evening watching the stars, it really has been such an amazing place to stay and its so nice knowing its somewhere peaceful and relaxing to bring our dogs along to again, as it has taken us forever to find such a quiet and ideal location like this. There are plenty of walking opportunities around the lodges and the folder that had been provided by the owners was super informative and told you everything you needed to now about nearby activities, local food recommendations, and pet friendly places. We really enjoyed walking to the Windmill that was just round the corner from the lodges as it has a big green area for our dogs to play on which they loved and very handy for nearby walks. Im so impressed and I have already recommended Windmill Lodges to friends and others who own pets as its truly been incredible. The staff seem so friendly too and were lovely to speak to on the phone prior to arriving. Thank you so much and we cant wait to visit again soon.

This is our third great time of staying at Windmill Lodges, they are real log cabins with all mod cons and very clean and well maintained by the friendly family owned business. The hot tub is great with privacy and loads of grass outdoor space and walks for running around in and dog walking. We have booked one of the dog friendly cabins, just bring your own dog bed. We highly recommend this attractive site above all others for location, cleanliness, personal attention and value for money.
