How wonderful to be able to walk between the ancient oaks. Planted when Henry VIII was on the throne? A mere sapling compared to some. The sheer size of the girth of these trees is impressive. The 7-mile walk, with deer and other wildlife, with the spring flowers just poking their heads up, largely free of other people (such is the size of the forest), was great. Restrooms: Toilets closed for winter. Why? We still need to pee!

Lovely afternoon walk, the poor weather meant my children found every single puddle, but would expect any less. Restrooms: Not always or clean but they are there.
