I spent ages looking for a local beautician in Wiltshire that did a tanning service. I came across Zoria and it looked to be exactly what I was looking for - a cute little buisness nearby that looked to provide quality services.I messaged Lisa to get booked in for the 17th June around 5:30pm for a tan as I was due to be a bridesmaid a couple of days later . I booked the appointment about 7 weeks in advance & I was expecting this to be the 42 st tropez tan advertised on her website. Come the 17th May Lisa sent me a number of messages asking me if I was still attending my appointment, I didn't see these until later on in the evening as I was working. The last message I found to be quite passive aggressive saying 'I'm guessing your not making your appointment this evening, I've not heard from you so I've booked someone else in.' Once I read the message I messaged her back to say I had booked my appointment for the 17/06, not the 17/05 - she quickly changed her tune and apologised she had got the date wrong saying she lost a loved one recently and wasn't thinking straight. I was a bit put off by her initial messages but gave her the benefit of the doubt because its easy to get dates confused especially if you have a lot going on. On the 17th June I excitedly finished work at 5pm in Swindon and hopped in my car to get to Lisas for my tan. As I pulled on the A419 I saw there was a little bit of traffic so messaged Lisa out of courtesy to say I was on route may be 10 mins late. I followed my iPhone maps to the exact place on Lisas Instagram where her salon was meant to be to find I was at a garage. I pulled over about 5:33pm and looked at my messages to see Lisa had messaged me saying I have a client straight after you I can't run 10 minutes late, I called Lisa and explained I was in the vacinity but could not find her salon despite following the pin on her account. She said that I had gone to far down, I asked her for her postcode and she said that would be no good as it would still take me to the garage. She then told me I was late and she had another client turning up in 10 minutes. I informed Lisa that had her pin been correct I would have been on time for my appointment, I then enquired why she had another customer turning up in ten minutes when I was supposed to be having a full tan 1 hour tan? Lisa then got defensive and said I hadn't asked for that one - I had asked for a tan so she booked me in for an express tan. I'm not a beautician but surely if a customer books for a tan and you do more than one variety you clarify at the point of booking? I assumed because I had asked for the tan, not the express tan I was getting the full 1 hour tan. Lisa then proceeded to tell me again she had a customer turning up in ten minutes and another one after. I asked Lisa what she wanted me to do as I was getting the impression she didn't want me to come despite the fact I had just driven for 30 minutes for my appointment to an address she had provided which was incorrect. She then kept saying to me 'I suppose this is my fault because you are late' - again I tried to reason with Lisa I had messaged her saying I might be late and had the address been correct I wouldn't have been late. I said I had found her interaction with me quite unprofessional and brought up the fact that she had sent me some passive-aggressive messages when she got my appointment wrong. She then started screaming at me that she had just lost her cousin and I said whilst that was unfortunate I didn't know why she was telling me this information and what bearing it had on me booking a beauty service from her. Lisa then told me she didn't want me to come to her salon anymore. Overall I was disappointed by my interactions with Lisa. I was really hoping to have a lovely experience and support local business - I really hope that I caught her on an off day (year?) and she doesn't treat all customers I such a unprofessional way, I also hope my friend likes a pasty bridesmaid because that's what I'll be on Saturday now!
