The central tower and east and west part of the nave 12th century; in the 13th century, the chancel was rebuilt with a north chapel and, in the 14th century, a south chapel was added. Fifteenth-century octagonal font has lost the statues from its corners, has the arms of ancient Sandwich, and on the south face, the arms of Archdeacon Robert Hallum. Lovely floor tiles. St Margaret's Chapel has a complete medieval tiled floor. Peaceful and lovingly kept.

The church's outstanding feature is the remarkable Norman tower. It is the only one of the three Norman churches in Sandwich to remain in use as a church.
