Clifton Hotel Shanklin

A really good experience all round - fantastic views out to sea, comfortable rooms, very quiet, helpful and friendly staff. As described on the hotel's website the food offering in the evenings is limited but there are plenty of alternatives within 10 minutes walk away and there is a well-stocked bar for a nightcap. The High Tea is also recommended. We will definitely stay there again.

Lovely location and hotel lovely view and garden. The first night our bed was uncomfortable, could feel the springs, I did report this to Zoe and she noted it, but the mattress was not changed but a topper was put on so better. Breakfast, first morning I asked for a poached egg it was half poached so I left it. The next morning I asked for an over easy I got a hard egg it looked a mess, I had to ask for extra coffee and extra toast, staff were more interested in cleaning tables and not attending to guests requirements. On a positive note, on our last morning we met Layla who was charming and attentive and she is credit to your hotel.
