I felt as if i had inconvenienced the receptionist by having to have a blood test this morning, simply the worst experience.

On holiday, called at 0900, was seen by Doctor at 1150. From start to finish the whole process was professionally handled, and all staff were polite, helpful and efficient. Thank you to both practices!

I've just visited The Bay Medical Practice for an ear infection. I've been self-treating for quite a few weeks but realised I needed to see a professional after prompting by my partner (something about pus, smelling fishy and being deaf). Like a lot of men, I hardly ever go to the doctor so I was rather taken aback by my experience. Firstly, I found it difficult to make the appointment. I wasn't able to get through on the phone so ended up having to go down to the surgery early one morning. Luckily for me I was able to do this. It seems like a strange system for dealing with sick and vulnerable people, but I realise I'm not an expert in this area. Then, the appointment - it only took about 5 minutes, so I asked the doctor if she could also look at a mole whilst I was there. But I was told no, that there was no time for that! The icing on the cake (if only there had been cake!) was that as I was leaving, the Doctor mentioned that I could get my ears syringed. Apparently, they do it in Ryde and I think (?) Newport. Oh, and it's 50 per ear!!! 100!!!??? I've been paying towards the NHS for about 40 years! It's not great, is it?
