Osterley lodge is a friendly well kept hotel. We have been back many times over the years and have always had a warm welcome and a comfortable room. There is plenty of off-road parking and the garden is very well kept with a variety of plants. I would recommend Osterley lodge to anyone that wants a peaceful holiday with a good breakfast to start your day

The owners are extremely rude. No respect for their neighbours - set fireworks off after 11pm and when asked to not continue as it woke up all the children on the estate next door by multiple residents, they just spat abuse. They told residents that they didnt have the right to live in the block of flats. Disgusting behaviour. Would not recommend.

Finding myself having to return to the Island for a funeral I decided to combine the trip with a visit to friends in Shanklin meaning that if course I would return to Osterley Lodge. As before the telephone booking was easy and I discovered that they also offered reduced fares for foot passengers on the ferry, however if I decided to bring the car I knew that there was an onsite parking with plenty of spaces. Upon my arrival I was welcomed as an old friend and shown to my room at the back overlooking the beautiful garden, yes even in January. Even though I've stayed before I was reminded of the welcome pack in the room which contains all the information for my stay, after a long journey I wouldn't have remembered breakfast times. Talking of breakfast the same fantastic choice greeted me (yoghurt, fresh fruit, juice, cereal, jam etc), I then had to decide between croissants, full English, scrambled eggs or my favourite smoked haddock. As I'd come by foot I was helpfully directed by Sue to the nearest bus stop to take me to Shanklin which is near enough to walk. I found everywhere to be clean with social distancing measures still in place and hand sanitizer available should you want it. All in all I found my return visit to be enjoyable with helpful advice on places to visit on the Island, insider knowledge is valuable in January. I look forward to returning later in the year, and the decision will be which of the comfortable rooms should I stay in as they all have everything you need.
