        Elaine, the owner, was helpful, friendly and welcoming. The cottage is beautiful clean and cosy. The welcome hamper is a locely touch. The cottage is an easy walk to the beach and main shops/restaurants in Shanklin. The only things preventing me giving 5 stars are some road noise late at night and the smell of cigarette smoke which somehow comes up from the owners flat in the basement below the cottage and into the downstairs bathroom. As a consequence we never used the bathroom but instead shared the upstairs shower room.
