Barchester - Kingfisher Lodge Care Centre

My grandfather spent a short time here (weeks) due to being end of life/cancer. He has sadly passed, but was looked after and cared for right up to his departure. All the staff went above & beyond during his stay in every way, from the minute he arrived, to him leaving. Not only did they listen to him & respect his wishes, they looked after him incredibly, ensured his dignity at all times, met his needs & very quickly built a positive & genuine relationship with him. My grandad has always lived independantly until terminal, so coming here was big thing to him. However, he described the lodge himself as a 'palace'. As a family, we visted daily & slept in the home alot due to the circumstances. Again, the kindness & support we received as a family was amazing. All the nurses & care workers were particularly amazing, but the staff team as a whole was fantastic. This is including receptionists, cleaners, the kitchen staff & even maintenence workers we met on the off chance who also went out their way to help us through a difficult time, knowing our situation. Marie ( care worker) you are incredible! Thank you for all you did for him & us as a family. We will never forget your kindness & love. You make such a difference to peoples lives. You really are one in a million. Lidl & beatra (nurses) I cant thank you both enough. The most kindest, empathetic, professional, caring & understanding nurses. You both listened, cared for and kindly looked after my gramp in such a way, that we will forever be greatful. Thank you! You both really are amazing!

Kingfisher is beautiful nursing home . The manager is very supportive and they have a wonderful staff team

Visited this care home recently. They have a wonderful staff team. Home looks nice and clean. Certainly will be visiting again

Best care home I have ever visited, would love to come there over and over again, very welcoming and wonderful staffs.
