Had Abbeyfield build our extension several years ago and had them back several times for other work. Fantastic builders. And great work ethic. Here at the crack of dawn and finished late. Mark and Alan kept my wife and myself appraised of all work that had been done and only sought payment for materials during the build. They were open and allowed us to have copies of receipts if asked but always showed us copies of receipts. Could not recommend these lads strongly enough and always my first point of contact for any of my building needs. Five stars.

We had an extension recently from Abbyfield. The finish was poor. We have had some work of theirs rectified . But now our calls are being ignored .

The job in my question was to remove an existing leaking shower tray and screen and to install new. Prior to the works I arranged a site survey and was told that the job was simple, and would take approximately a day to complete. Having used Abbeyfield Builders previously I did not ask for a quote and agree to pay them their day rate. The works were completed in one day and, in line with previous works we paid the builders at the end of the day. The next day (as the silicone had to cure overnight) I used the shower for the first time and found upon closer inspection that the shower frame had been cut to fit the space (as the door would not open to the 400mm gap it was designed), that the stone tray was damaged, the tray was not draining correctly as water was pooling around my feet and that screen leaked. The builders initially offered to come back and said that an adjustment may be possible however, as it was so badly fitted I decided to have the installation inspected by three other bathroom installers and I have subsequently had the works undertaken again, with a second new tray and new top and bottom rails as the original new rails were cut beyond repair by Abbeyfield. After my initial contact with Abbeyfield and despite phone messages and emails no response from Abbeyfield has been forthcoming, therefore if it were possible to have given the builders a negative star rating I would have.
