Mountain Warehouse

We were visiting Salisbury and popped in as there was a sale on. I am a regular at mountain warehouse at our local store, online and if passing one whilst on our travels. We popped in and my grand daughter saw a t shirt she liked she and so tried it on, it was perfect fit so I said she could have it as an Easter treat I also picked up some trousers for myself. When at the till a very polite young lady (Matilda on her name badge) served us, she was helpful and offered us other items in the sale. A credit to the company. As she processed the sale it became clear that the price on the item was different to to the price coming through on the till. An older lady said (couldn't see her name badge but possibly a senior store assistant) in a rather aggressive tone "what's the problem, the girl explained and the the lady said its been marked up wrong. She then turned to me and said its been marked up wrong and asked where I had it from. pointing to the area and the sign on the end of the row clearly marked 50% off she went over came back amd that's not in the sale . She then refused to sell the item at the advertised price and went back to the area and removed the tickets. It wasn't as much the what she said but the aggressive tone and attitude that came with it. There is a way of speaking to customers and she certainly needs training on this. Not the standard of service in Salisbury that I get in many other mountain warehouse stores.

I like this Store. Friendly helpful staff and a good range of affordable outdoor clothing, footwear, gear etc. You probably won't find the high end brands but you are not paying the high prices either. I'd say they are aiming to provide reasonably priced stuff for the average family and not "professional "outdoor climbers/ hikers/ cyclists. Bargains to be found if you choose carefully. If you want to spend a night on the summit of Ben Nevis - then go to Blacks or Ellis Brighams. Go in and have a look around.
