Darrens empathetic and compassionate nature made this difficult time considerably easier. He was exactly what we needed to help organise what turned out to be a fairly large, military funeral and he gently guided my Mother through all the decisions with patience and experience. We visited a number of options but the welcoming atmosphere put us immediately at ease. I would not hesitate to recommend Darren and his team to assist through these difficult times. Darren MacDonald Funeral Directors recently helped my family through the loss, burial and service of celebration, for my late Father. Darren offers that quality that is so rare these days, amongst the big companies, of providing a truly personal service. He helped and reassured us through the complexities of having my Father repatriated from abroad, travelling to Heathrow to pick him up and going in person to the coroners' office to expedite the paper work. He offered to look after all elements of the preparation and the day itself, from sorting the layout and printing the Order of Service for the church service, the flowers and the catering. He sourced the music we wanted for the service and managed the timings and the speaker needed for the on the day. The flowers were utterly spectacular. The day of the burial was very wet and the team arrived with huge umbrellas to shelter us. Darren himself is a truly lovely man who brings a sense of calm and a gentle compassion to every conversation you have with him. I really felt that nothing was too much trouble for him and he was endlessly reassuring and kind. I recommend him to any family suffering a loss, he is exactly what you need at a time when all these decisions and things to organise can seem overwhelming. My family and I are so grateful for all the help and support we received. Five stars ++

Our Mother's funeral was handled to perfection by Darren and the team and the enormous experience of Richard Adlem MBE. Faultless, precise, calm and professional No detail overlooked. It was all 'just right' for Mum. Well, this was no surprise to us having used Richard's services before but we were again more than satisfied. A big thank you from all the family. I would not hesitate to recommend the service.

I can fully and whole heartedly recommend Darren Macdonald Funerals. When my mother passed, we popped in here unannounced, after a bad experience at another provider, to get a feel for the place and potential book an appointment. He immediately dropped everything, got fully suited and booted and made time for us there and then. He was very professional, helpful and compassionate and we left immediately feeling comforted and that Mum was in good hands. He took excellent care of arrangements for her funeral, everything ran smoothly and even after the event provided information, assistance and compassion to my father as he made further arrangements. Highly recommend.
