The Art School Salisbury

I have been attending art classes with Sean for around three years (lock down permitting!). Sean is a talented artist and a thoughtful and considerate teacher. He cleverly tailors his classes to the individual needs and wishes of his students, which is not an easy task. Sean has always been polite, friendly and courteous during all the time I have known him. He offers honest, constructive and encouraging feedback on my work, with an aim to support me to improve- which is the whole reason I attend his classes. He seems to take a real pleasure in watching his students progress and will push us to explore new techniques and step out of our comfort zones. I personally really enjoy his more informal class structure which allows some short teaching sessions and demonstrations with then plenty of time for painting/drawing, during which he will coach people individually. All in all his classes are professional, friendly, relaxed and excellent value for money.

I have been attending classes since September and my confidence and drawing abilities have improved. Sean is very skilled as an artist and will make sure every one in class is given advice and skills on how to improve their drawing. This class has people who draw, sketch, paint and water colour. All are made to feel very welcome.

Started art classes just over a year ago. Before that my art efforts were mainly done at school - decades ago. I have learnt a lot from Sean in just over a year and there is so much more to learn too. Its rekindled my enjoyment in practicing art. Sean is clearly an accomplished professional artist and his technical knowledge is both broad and in-depth covering many types of media

Discovering The Art School Salisbury has been a great find for me as I'd been looking for an art class on and off for a number of years, the only other one I'd tried wasn't suitable for me. I enjoy learning about the many drawing and painting techniques and the challenges each one brings. It's great to get positive feedback as well as help when I'm struggling enabling me to understand what I'm trying to do and continue to make progress. I was very much a beginner when I started 2-3 years ago and still feel there's so much more to learn and hopefully more progress to make. Sean is very encouraging and this includes showing students' work in the website's gallery.
