Sarah Brooksby Photography

My second child was born in April and rather than having a newborn photoshoot, I decided I'd like to wait a little and get some pictures taken of the four of us as a family, once the littlest one was a bit more awake and would interact more. I found Sarah via Facebook and saw that she did outdoor photoshoots, which I particularly liked as I sometimes feel studio photography can feel a bit forced and I wanted something as natural as possible. My in-laws paid for the session as mine and my husband's joint birthday present and we booked a date in September. We originally chose a location in Thetford forest recommended by Sarah, however, after an absolutely glorious summer the week of our booking the weather had begun to turn and rain was predicted. Having found it quite difficult to arrange a day that everyone could come to, I was really reluctant to postpone. I am probably (definitely) a bit of a difficult customer and Sarah tried really hard to make sure I was happy. In the end we opted for a more local place for the photos and made a compromise to cover Sarah's additional travel costs. We were very lucky that the weather actually ended up being glorious for the shoot. We spent just over an hour walking round taking photos. Sarah seemed very confident and knew how to direct us to stand/walk/look at eachother to get a good mix of candid and posed shots. My only feedback would be that it might have been helpful to have some props to make the children look at the camera/smile etc. I had brought a noisy toy which helped a little, but it is really challenging with two such little children and it helps to be prepared! We got some lovely shots in the end and Sarah was kind enough to let me see all the photos and make my own selection - as mentioned I know I have been quite a tricky/demanding customer and she has been extra helpful and understanding about everything so I'm really grateful!

We booked Sarah for our 2020 wedding and we've rescheduled until 2022 due to the restrictions. Each time we had to reschedule she was brilliant and was quick to get us new available dates with no extra charges unlike our venue! After a long wait, we were not dissapointed and she captured our beautiful day exactly how we wanted. She was great on the day, its a lovely photo album and there's so many beautiful pictures. Thank you so much. We'll be recommending you to everyone who tells us they're getting married!

Sarah recently photographed our wedding, and wow what an incredible photographer and lady she is!! She made us feel so at ease from booking all the way through to receiving our photos!
