My 16 year old daugther has been attending singing lessions with footlights for the past 6 months. Her experience of the lessons has always been very positive and she has made excellent progress in that time. She enjoys attending and always looks forward to her weekly lessons, which is a good sign. We had been looking around for a long while for a high quality singing teacher who is classically trained and who can skilfully instruct in the finer details of mastering technique to take her to the next level. We have certainly found that in abundance. Highly recommended!!!

Took a while for me to decide to write this review but Ive decided its needed! This company need to sort out how it speaks and acts to their staff in front or parents and students. Management love to have a snap at you like your not an employee but their mates, which is not the case and never should be assumed. Even if something in your personal life is happening, they should be left at the door! There approach to how to train individuals for the industry is a very weird one, as they like to change the work every month and have a go when the students have no clue what they are performing. For example, the change to Peter Pan rehearsal once lockdown hit ! The young people were training to do grease, but to be able to open, they changed the whole production and called it panto rehearsal, which can be confirmed by a screenshot email if needed. In my opinion, this was very careless and irresponsible due to the pandemic going on. Also asking staff to copy dances of other teachers to teach with no paperwork confirming you are able to do so. Parents and outside individuals have commented on the quality of the shows they have been performing and this is exactly the issue why they are no good due to change of scripts, performances, singing teachers and studio space. The young people need stability and their safety put first, not being adapted around the rules to make it okay to open !!! Over email I have been threatened with a legal binding contract, which I never signed or even received under the name of footlights Urmston / footlights Prestwich and I shall make this very clear I am talking about footlights urmston and Prestwich as these are the schools I have experienced these issues, repeatedly! You have unqualified management having a strop in front of a whole audience at a summer school performance like a 5 year old child and not a co-owner of the company which is discussing behaviour ! Im not going to go on and on about how this theatre school operates but I am glad Im not longer working there and took pride in taking it off my CV as its more of an embarrassment than an achievement. There are plenty more professional theatre schools around for young people to get involved with, which I would recommend on doing so. The owner loves to talk about the word slander so I have took the time to screenshot the meaning of this word below, for everyone to understand you have a right to make a review of you have been wrongly treated by a company, this is the whole reason this section is made for the honest truth ! None of the above review is false and can be backed up by emails and confirmation of other staff who are still working for this company. Want to make it very clear about this word as Jo Fisher, the owner of footlights, likes to make it come across that leaving a bad review is grounds for slander!
