The Black Friar

My boyfriend and I had a lovely evening at the black friar not only is the venue lovely, the food was amazing. The best croquettes we have ever had and well be back to try another pie. Our server Vitor was wonderful, so polite and attentive, we will certainly be back again

The Black Friar is a fantastic place, the outside is so nicely decorated that it draws you in. We went for a few spontaneous nights there, only had drinks and nibbles and we're already planning to come for dinner as the menu and the plates we've seen leaving the kitchen look incredible. The drinks menu is great, there are classic cocktails but also house signatures which are wonderful. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful and they help bring a cosy vibe that we love. The decor is also very nice and a mix between rustic and modern. Last time we were there, the sun was out and we enjoyed the garden at the back, they even have comfy plaids for when it gets chilly.

Brilliant pub, with delicious wine served in beautiful glasses. Pillar candles on the tables add to the atmosphere. Look forward to eating in the restaurant next time !

Came Friday night and it was 8 of us, we were sat on the Sanctuary and the decor of the room was amazing as the service, Andrea was a star! Thanks guys!

Excellent visit to The Black Friar recently, the whole experience was amazing from start to finish. After a warm welcome by the lady on the front desk, we were escorted upstairs to very pleasant, traditional, rustic surroundings and we were seated at our table nicely placed next to a window that was tastefully decorated with various ornaments. Our waiter for the night was the wonderful Vitor, an attentive, friendly and charismatic young man, who could not have provide a better service. He ensured we were always taken care of and added a lovely personalisation to our experience. The food was completely out of this world, quite possibly one of the best meals weve ended had, and at reasonable prices. Our wine choice came recommended by Vitor whom successfully garnered our tastes through yet another lovely and friendly interaction. Highly recommend a visit here if youre visiting or live local, Ill certainly be back with friends very soon. On a further note, we had a look around the restaurant and it also has a beautiful covered outdoor area , I imagine ideal for bit to say functions etc. Thank you Black Friar, we will be back soon!
