As I live on Windsor estate the summer becomes a nightmare and has been for many years the avenue I overlook more so when the children are off school has constant noise until around 22.30 until the so called parents can be bothered to take there children in as I be leave most of them dont work or never have it seems normal to them as they dont have to be up like myself and countless other at 6.00amsome earlier but when there children are in school were lucky they my be off the streets around 21.30 Im sure Im not the only who trys to go to bed around 21.00 hoping to get som sleep to be kept awake by the mother shouting across the way to each other there children screaming sad to say I look forward to the winter or poor weather its about time Windsor housing sent round a letter or contacted the rest of the people on the estate to ask the opinion regarding this situation yes I my seem like a killjoy but if you had to get up for work at 6.00am 6 days a week with sometimes barely 5 hours sleep Im sure you would agree there need to be some consideration from these parents, Kind regards D.jackson,

The tenant run board is great. If there's an issue, it gets dealt with promptly. The place had recently been rendered & is fantastically well-insulated. My heating's off and I've got an internal temperature of 16.8C in the hallway (that's with a couple of windows open & 2C outside). The usual temperature with a couple of vents open is usually upwards of 18C, so it's great in winter. When it was being refurbed, most of the contractors were spot on & a fantastic job done, given the limitations of it being local authority stock. ie, [a little unsightly/cheap option] trunking around the flat covering the all-new electrics, the ground-heat central heating & all-new sprinkler system. It's a shame, as if it were a private residence, pipes and wires would be chased-in & out of sight so that aside, it's great. The flats are very spacious, with pretty good storage, although the larder was taken up by the mahoosive (yeah, ridiculously space-consuming) heating system. Years ago there was even more storage, but these were removed for some bizarre reason! Even after this, there still are a few cupboards where you might store your stuff. All rooms are of good proportion and size. The locals are a generally friendly bunch of peeps, many of whom have been here for years. It's that safe. There are virtually no nuisance issues or unreasonable noise. We've got a security guard 6 am-6 pm every day (I know, right?! Unlike many blocks, where they've been replaced by on-call response teams). It makes a big difference. Paul, the guard on weekdays, is sound. All the staff & housing officers are friendly & located in the building! I can honestly say this is the best place I've lived, cheap rent, 2 bed flat, many transport connections & Salford Uni around the corner, too. Anyways, I've rambled on just a tad in the review, more like War & Peace! The Salford Mayor lives here, which is a commendation all by itself!

Nice place but don't listen to tenants complaints or keep residents informed of investigation or other housing associations involved with them, the people concerned with investigation should be suspended pending outcome ,not honest or transparent or reliable, board members need to keep to residents involvement and not the outside community

This is by far the best tower block in Salford. I have been visiting my friend for a good few years now, and the block is constantly clean. You can tell the staff take pride in their work. The young security guard at the front desk is so professional, polite, and very helpful. My friend has told me that he has gone out of his way to help her with heavy bags etc. Working in the hospitality industry I would hire him without hesitation. Salix Homes you have finally got something right, be proud of your staff!
