I am currently looking at getting a sleeve done. After doing my research of artists, following them on Instagram, checking reviews & speaking with other customers I had narrowed my options down to 2 studios. This one and one other. I knew to make a start on the tattoo and to get my ideas down on skin Id need a full days work. I simply messaged them on facebook to ask the price they charge for a full days work. The conversation is as follows - ME - Hi Im looking at getting a sleeve done. How much do you charge for a day? Fine art - Hi Courteney we charge 540 for a full day of 6 hours tattooing, we can get a large amount done in a day, however if you are shopping around on price rather than quality then we are probably not the Studio for you. ME -Rather forward of you to assume Im shopping around for price.. I had chosen between 2 studios, yourself and one other. I wanted to get prices in mind ready to book. Ive done research for a few months and spoken with other customers of yours which had recommended you. But sure turn away customers on your assumption that I havent researched!! Perhaps working on your customer service would serve you well. Ill go elsewhere! Fine art - That's cool, sorry we hurt your feelings Courteney, we are very busy artists doing some of the best work in the country, not sales assistants, we're sorry you have burnt this bridge but good luck in finding a shop that suits you. I cannot believe the sheer arrogance of the person behind these messages!! Literally turned away a customer who is willing to pay a decent price for good artwork! Were artists not sales assistants you would never ever walk into another place and be turned away for asking the price of a service! You are offering a service, that is being paid for so whats the issue in asking how much that service costs? I do not care how talented you are, manners cost nothing and arrogance doesnt suit anybody. Were sorry you have burnt this bridge Im not exactly sure how I burnt any bridges by asking the price of a days work. Anyone would think Id done something seriously wrong! If youre thinking of using this tattoo studio remember NOT to ask what youll be charged. Money wasnt an issue for me, but for some it is and simply asking the price of a service shouldnt have caused such a rude and obnoxious response.
