COMPLETE CHANCERS!!! They 'fitted' a kitchen to a new build that we bought four years ago. I've just had the sink out to mastic around the underside as this was not done in the first place and the work surface was showing signs of blistering around the edge of the sink where water was getting underneath.Half the sink clips were loose because the sink was positioned in such a way that it was not possible to tighten the clips. The underside of the tap assembly retaining ring was rusty as the tap assembly had been installed incorrectly allowing water to seep underneath - the contoured plastic moulding was fitted 180 degrees out. The water pipes were loose, retaining clips were fitted, but not screwed to the wall. The rear foot of the dishwasher was propped up with two pieces of plasterboard. One of the kitchen unit adjustable feet was propped with a piece of polystyrene! I had to modify the drainage plumbing on re-assembly as the pipes and fittings were under a great deal of mechanical stress. The flexible tap hoses were crushed against a panel fitting, and the compression fittings for these hoses were filled with Plumbers Mait - WHY???!!! I also cleaned up the mess underneath the units - packing material, plastic bags, loose screws, fitting instructions etc. This work really should have been rectified by the installer, but I did the remedial work myself as the job has now been done properly.
