Last summer Tom Smith fitted a replacement gas boiler with no mess or fuss. Its been working fine since. He had serviced the original boiler for the previous 15 of its 18 years for about 85 each time until it wore out. He is a professional guy and does a proper job.

This individual did not bother to turn up for the appointment and despite my attempts at contact, has not bothered to ring me to a) apologies and b) re-arrange. Go elsewhere as he is clearly unreliable!

Tom Smith (T.A. Smith Heating & Plumbing) replaced a leaking shower pump for me, no problem with the work done however he charged me 370 (exc. VAT) for the pump without providing a receipt, saying he didn't get one and would check at home and send on. I now realise it was too trusting of me to pay paid him without proof of purchase at it turns out the pump costs 150 less than this including VAT. Tried to call and email numerous times as I first thought it was an honest mistake. He blocked my phone number and never replied to an email. He also charged an extra hour of labour saying he had to wait at his house for a part to be delivered, I hadn't agreed to that and would have got the part myself if I'd known but at the time was grateful for him having done the work. Having to pursue through Citizen's Advice for the over charging of the part and registering a complaint with the Chartered Institute of Heating & Plumbing engineers for him never having provided the paperwork I need for the part guarantee. If he completely ripped off me off he'll likely do it to others.
