Reid Carpentry & Construction - Loft Conversions

Would definitely recommend. Was recommend to us by a friend who had had a loft conversion and side extension. We had a timber frame extension on the rear of our property which include an interior staircase down into what was the garden room, now my office. Geordie is great to work with, very friendly and we had great communication all the way through the build. We had a 3rd party also involved in installing a flue and stove in the extension, which was no issue for Geordie they both work together seamlessly. All the other trades involved were arranged by Geordie and could not fault any of them. The finish to our extension is perfect, even down to the small detail. Strongly recommend.

Simply failed to turn up at all - at the agreed time. We had cancelled / postponed other appointments to accommodate his. No contact, no text to explain the reason why he didn't turn up at the appointment of HIS choice. Very unprofessional. In stark to the other Google reviews! Update: After two months now we got an answer! It is his excuse of Covid19 that is unfair not our review! Everybody else in trade was managing very well and turning up at appointments. We have had different people carrying out work, and everybody turned up or phoned if delayed or to re-schedule. He forgot? Forgot what? Our texts were clearly visible on his mobile. "The job", as he calls it, was a quote, as we had already discussed with him that was not insubstantial. The impression we were left with, as there was no communication at all, was that he just was not interested and probably had a better job to go to. What is gross is that this individual accuses people of trying to damage his business when prospective clients are leaving an honest and fair review for other people to read. The benefit of the doubt? It goes both ways, when you "finally remembered" why didn't you contact us then? Update: This man has now turn aggressive accusing us of being dishonest while he is the Troll!!! We do not have 50% negative reviews. We leave fair and consistent reviews not fake ones like the five stars ones he has. We are local guides and Google often has contacted us to praise our great contribution. This man is argumentative and is lying. Avoid! If continue to persecute us we will end in court, be warned, mate!

We are delighted with our new loft extension. Geordie was always polite, friendly and respectful of the fact that, as it was lockdown, we were at home throughout, sometimes working. He managed the project brilliantly organising his team and delivery of supplies when needed despite potential shortages because of lockdown. The quality of his craftsmanship was high and he had some creative ideas. Would highly recommend.
