I have spent hours on hold to this surgery. Call at 8am, get though at 9:30am to be told try again tomorrow. Their system is wait til you are sick enough to go to A&E. In the meantime, its your job to chase up referrals at various stages and even chase for your previous medical records. The reception staff are so rude and incompetent.

Awful truly awful. Midst of nervous breakdown with anxiety choking me. No quality of life. Practically begged the G.P for help to calm my racing mind just short term medication was told NO we don't prescribe anti anxiety DRUGS! Will throw other meds at you all day long but what you desperately need they won't prescribe. I was so anxious I couldn't keep still and resorted to alcohol to help calm me down. Absurd beyond belief. It seems mental health is not considered important at Gold Street. Shame on you.

Appalling receptionists, particularly one lady that is extremely rude and lacking in kindness when one is unwell, who makes it a point to acquire an appointment virtually impossible. That is the crux of the problem, gaining an appointment to see-or even converse with a GP! I am at a loss and wonder what they spend their time doing (?) because it is a general ongoing issue among those I know that are patients at Gold Street. Somebody I know didnt even receive a call back! What is the world coming to?. The GPs are there to do one job, and it would appear they are failing miserably. How can you you call yourself a GP surgery when you do not treat patients that are in need of medical help?. I know people that put off going to the doctors purely because getting an appointment is as rare as hens teeth. They self medicate and diagnose and have acquired medication via friends-utterly astonishing. Except if you have a pushy, elderly lady as a boss, that phones up and demands her cleaner to be seen to due to a facial/eye swelling! (She was seen to that very day after the call, despite being told there was no appointments when shed called herself the previous day!) I would not recommend this surgery to anyone. Avoid.
