The positive reviews don't appear genuine as none of them have left reviews for anything else on Google.
They all seemed to have appeared following negative reviews too. coincidentally for these one reviews they have left extremely detailed accounts.
suspicious
If the owners spent more time improving their guests experience rather than arguing with reviews they wouldn't have to deal with so many negative reviews. We didn't feel welcome and wouldn't recommend staying here.
In response to what the owners said to others... the photos are deceitful and the description doesn't explain that beds are in living rooms so as a big group you're sleeping in virtually every room in the house.
The house is situated in a very nice area surrounded by lovely walks and the odd local pub to stop for a drink. just make sure youre in by 10!

As for space, beds were tightly squeezed into every room (and I do mean every room apart from the kitchen), leaving little space for gatherings at food times and areas to relax and socialise. As such, I'd advise anyone looking to book that this cottage is far more suited for groups no larger than 6.
As for privacy, for the amount of times that the owner showed up, he might as well have taken up space in one of the bedrooms.
He turned up at 10pm each and every night to impose a non-disclosed curfew and to switch the hot-tub off (of which is charged at an additional extra, by the way).
On the first morning he arrived at 8am, loudly crashing his fist into the doors and windows to awake everyone in the cottage so that he could accept a small delivery, which would've been fine if he had notified us, however, he decided instead to disturb our peace and rudely tell one of our group to move their vehicle immediately.
Totally unacceptable behaviour by an owner of what should've been a nice family getaway cottage. He had condescending demeanour and authoritarian rules that are not openly advertised online.
I do not recommend this cottage to anyone that wants somewhere quiet and undisturbed to stay. Although, the surrounding area is beautiful and I would highly recommend that you do visit the village.
