The Old Borough Arms is a 17th century coaching inn located in the heart of Rye, East Sussex. The inn was confusing in terms of checking in. Eventually found check in after trying just about every door. The room was comfortable but wasn't the best room I've ever stayed in, having said that, it was the only room available on booking so didn't have many options. The breakfast was okay. The dining room was a bit cold and quiet. Some confusion as to whether I needed to pay extra for a cappuccino, I did in the end. Turned out I didn't have to pay extra, quite confusing. The waitress wasn't exactly welcoming or engaging. No offer of refund however and the cappuccino tasted like pipe cleaner which was slightly annoying. Needless to say, we went to a local cafe for breakfast the next morning. Recommended if you want to use it as a bedroom to sleep on your trip, I wouldn't use much of the other facilities.

Really friendly pub with an amazing roof terrace. This is a wonderful and show me a pub they have a simple but very good wine list that is very reasonable indeed. Its well worth a walk up the stairs to reach the Sun roof terrace and enjoy a nice bottle of wine or a pint of beer. They also serve a small range of snacks and the olives are really quite wonderful
