Well stocked store, I would spend longer browsing and use it far more but sadly on every visit the staff are genuinely quite curt verging on frosty, and post office counter is frankly an unpleasant experience. A shame....

Absolutely shocking service and attitude shown by the manager of the store today. Mother-in-law had paid for 3 bags of compost the previous day and agreed with the serving member of staff that, on production of the receipt, I would collect them for her today as she was unable to take them herself yesterday. Went in as planned with receipt and, essentially, accused of trying to scam them, all because they hadn't logged the arrangement their end. Had to get the mother-in-law on the phone in the store to confirm the agreement before he reluctantly released the items. He even told us "not to do this again" even though they had agreed to the arrangement the previous day?! My advice, if you need anything for the garden, pay a bit more and go to Haskins, and if you need something for the house, go to Hanwells, as they both know how treat customers.

Love this store. A treasure trove. Such a wide range of goods both DIY and for the home. Excellent range of wild bird food! Was definitely best place for items for Queens Jubilee. Manager and staff always helpful and pleasant. Very helpful having post office in there. Often open at front and back of store . Excellent customer service.
