This english heritage property has been something of a hard one to get to see. With limited opening at the best of times, in recent years the volunteers prefab building was vandalised, restricting opening even more . Parking is limited to maximum of 5 cars on the opposite side of the road. The 2 volunteers on duty were excellent but be prepared there are no facilities of any kind. The building itself was built by Thomas tresham and is somewhat of a puzzle , as its all linked to his faith in the Holy Trinity . So the building has 3 sides, is 33ft long, Latin inscriptions have 33 letters. There is a multitude of things being implied in its design , but you really need to either read up or talk to a volunteer to get the most out of it. The folly itself is empty inside apart from more cryptic designs. This is not for everyone , put the work in and you will enjoy it.
