We are so happy with they way our daughter has settled into nursery. Lots of time care and patience has gone into making her feel comfortable and build good relationships with the staff. We look forward to seeing her flourish in the fun ways of learning that happen here.

We withdrew our child from babies at Little Manor Nursery Sandymoor, due to a number of concerns. Our child was still at an age where they crawled on their hands and knees to get about. As every child does at that age, they were constantly putting their hands into their mouth. We noticed very early on that their socks were in a filthy state at the end of each day when we picked them up and raised this with the then Deputy Manager. It was apparent this was dirt picked up from the floor and we were concerned about the potential for germs as our child constantly put their hands in their mouth. We were told the floor was cleaned throughout the day and they would ensure it was kept clean. After a few weeks it was apparent from the state of their socks there had not been any improvement and we raised this with the Manager who said that the floor is cleaned throughout the day. During our discussion she was incredibly defensive and reticent to take our concerns and suggestions on board. We made various suggestions to help with the cleanliness of the floor, such as: staff wearing indoor shoes, using a steamer or providing parents with shoe coverings. The manager said that staff could not wear indoor shoes due to health and safety, but then in an email contradicted herself and said that they already do this. She did agree to ask parents to stay in one small area of the baby room. During our tour prior to enrolling at the nursery we were told about the digital learning book that would provide a record of the activities our child is involved with. We were told it would be updated at least twice a week. Unfortunately this was not the reality for us. It started promisingly with three updates in the first week, but then there were only three updates over the next four months. We were also concerned at the high staff turnover. During the four months that our child attended the nursery we were aware of several members of staff leaving the babys room including our childs key person. There were occasions during pick-up when I did not recognise all of the staff, and at least one occasion when I did not recognise a single adult who was looking after my child. During one pick-up I asked the member of staff who handed me my child who their key person was. They had to consult a list and then realised they were my childs key worker.
