My partner spent 6 days at Halton Haven in May before he sadly passed away. He and I couldn't have wished for better care for him, and his last few days were spent comfortable, cared for and as pain free as possible given his condition. I consider all the staff as Angels from the Doctors, Nurses and support staff they absolutely couldn't do enough for him, and it it's helping with the grieving process knowing his last days were spent in their care. They also helped to support me, which was very much appreciated more than they'lll ever know. I wouldn't hesitate to have any member of my family or myself to be cared for by them. You are all in my heart where you will always stay. Xxx

My Dad was taken in to Halton Haven and all seemed well. It was noted on a couple of occasions that medication was found in the bedding and also tablets untaken in the bottom of the water glass. I visited several times and only had my temperature taken twice. I was never required to show proof of a negative Covid test . Whilst on a visit my Dad received his food that was scrambled egg on toast. He has been on soft food for almost 3 months because he has stomach/ throat cancer so it would have been nothing short of a miracle if he could eat toast. He finally did catch Covid after been in there a week. That is not surprising as most of the staff only wore a mask and no other PPE. One or two staff were lovely and made every effort to comfort my Dad and that is what has given the review 2 stars instead of none. The rooms are nice and clean and overlook what could be nice gardens that would benefit a visit from a lawnmower and a brush. My Dad has signed himself out and is being looked after by his family and the district nurses. he is still Covid positive and has made us promise not to send him back to Halton Haven. When asked about it he said, "They say it's a lovely place. It's not."
