I have a long history with this station starting in the 1960s when I was little. It was where we'ed travel to London on Friday nights or Northampton for shopping with my mum and aunt. My dad used to work at the signal box which is no longer at the end of the up platform. I do miss the old station because it was less open to the wind. Also, the Victorian architecture made it spectacular. I do like the much needed improvements in the brickwork and other modernization schemes yet maintaining a fidelity to the old building. When I return home by rail, it is nice to see some of the parts still being used like the stairless ramp to the platforms.
