Food and service was good, the whole family enjoyed their meals.

Mothers Day 2023. We were sat upstairs, which wasnt very appealing, a bit run down, compared to downstairs it was a bit drab. The waiter disappeared immediately after we sat down without asking if we needed drinks, or anything for the table, and did not return. We got the attention of a staff member collecting glasses and managed to order drinks. the food was very nice and came promptly, although no plates were provided for our starters. empty glasses/bottles were not collected at any point during the entire 3 course meal, which made the table look cluttered and dirty. A unnecessarily long wait, (almost 20 minutes), for dessert, and the same protracted wait for the bill and then once again to pay. I can't understand why we are presented with the bill, which we have asked to pay, then the staff walk away when we are clearly ready to pay. eventually we went and found the staff. and requested to pay. it was claerly very busy downstairs, the upstairs was sparce, not at all full. Not a very good experience, it was such a shame, as we have had decent experiences in the past.
