Barchester - Overslade House Care Home

By any measure Overslade Nursing Home stands above the rest . It is heart breaking to see and hear what mental illness had inflicted upon the residents of Overslade House. Nevertheless all the staff of Overslade rise above the overwhelming sadness to bring genuine warm care and comfort to the residents. Providing loving care to residents who have lost all sense of space, time, personal hygiene and safety is a huge challenge but the staffs of Overslade rise to the needs of the residents in a most dedicated way. I for one will will be forever grateful for the kindness and warmth given to my beloved wife in her hours of need.

We have been delighted with the care, concern and patience of the amazing team at Overslade. My Mum had a difficult time after being discharged from hospital and the team at Overslade did everything they could to ensure that all her needs were met and to get her back on track. They showed infinite patience and concern and Mum was included in all the activities available. I cannot speak too highly of all of the carers who not only helped Mum but also offered support to me at a very difficult time.

As a member of the Nene Valley Chapter we were so pleased to be invited to visit the residents of Overslade House care home. The staff and management team we're extremely welcoming and provided the whole group with refreshments and entertainment. What a beautiful home:

I would definitely recommend this home for anyone considering a loved one to be in nursing care. Absolutely the best care is being given to my mum and the support given to ourselves while my mum is here on palliative care really is appreciated. The staff are amazing and the hospitality shown to us all by the staff and management was second to none. The home is very beautiful and is very clean and tidy. You can personalise the rooms with bedding curtains, flowers cushions etc which made the transition from her home to hospital then to care a a little less traumatic for everyone concerned as it was things from home for our loved one and as for the home manager nothing is a problem and as a relative this management team where amazing in answering any concerns we had in relation to mums condition. Although we didnt have much to do with other parts of the house I can honestly say Memory lane is beautifully fitted out with pictures and memorabilia and provides top class care for loved ones with dementia. And if you loved one has a birthday they make it very special with cake and will celebrate with you on their special day. There is a cafe which is open 24/7 to all to use With tea and homemade cakes. There is a entertainments team where they have sessions of fun and art and crafts and gentle exercise which is so much fun and they have days out and a in house singer who regularly gives them a sing song. I cannot give a big enough thank you from all of our family to all of them and I will miss the staff as they started to feel like friends even though will be here only for a short time.
