The service is terrible from GG Batchelor. I had a wall that was falling down on my extension, so I booked a builder to come out and have a look and advise what work needed to be done. The builder never turned up after i had booked a day's holiday to see him, and then over 10 phone calls and 4 days later, I was eventually told the builder would not be coming out. Horrendous customer service.

Bachelors did a good job on the actual work, but don't expect any prompt or polite communication - they really have to sort their customer service which is lacking! After trusting/leaving Bachelors Builders the key to my property to take care of the work, I had to chase them for a week to return it. Shortly after work was completed on my property I sent an email to confirm payment was transferred and queried the whereabouts of my key, as it's expected for tradesmen to post back through the letterbox after locking up upon completion of work, is it not? I received an email back from Batchelors after a day or so to confirm receipt of payment "but still no news on returning my house key". After phoning their landline on three separate occasions the week after completion of the work (Mon, Thurs & Fri) and the lady on their landline assuring me that they would get back to me the same day to confirm - each time; I received no update or correspondence the entire week! After sending the final email on the Friday, I had found that Batchelors had in fact posted it back through the letterbox the Friday after work was completed, but had to rely on my father (who was on-site) to inform me they had done this. Today (which prompted me to write this), David (chief of the company) phoned me with the audacity to insult my intelligence and moan about my email, saying that he was annoyed that I pestered him for the key back and said that he posted it back on Friday. He said that it's always kept in the safe in the office. David...HOW WAS I TO KNOW - I haven't heard from you before today!!!! After I queried his company's lack of communication he decided to speak over me and end the call. If you are too busy day in/day out to deal with admin, at least have someone who can manage this properly on your behalf! Lessons.... 1. Check your emails and check calls with colleagues (especially if repeatedly airing a concern) and respond within a reasonable time frame 2. Respect your customers concerns, listen, then respond 3. Don't insult your customers intelligence and show some respect. They're your bread and butter and you may win repeat business and word of mouth referral? As mentioned, the important work (the job itself) was done to good enough standard, however, it's highly unlikely now that I will be using them for phase 2 of my build due to not receiving one apology for lack of communication. Shame, as I did all I could to make life easy for them - handing them the key for ease of access/exit to property when I was at work. Also a shame as I had informed them there was more to do on the house.
