I rather think that this 'marina' is being reviewed for other aspects of the business that are located here. Many make reference to the coffee shop and the camping that are also on site. While I would never wish to undermine the hard work that has gone into achieving these high scores, I would suggest that the boating/ mooring experience is less than ideal. It is not a very comfortable place to moor due to very limited parking and rules governing who can go where and when. On the first point, there does appear to be ample parking but the carpark by the gate is full of caravans, campervans and a miscellaneous selection of vehicles that don't move. The grass carpark is only available in the drier weather and the one by the cafe is a no go area as it is for the cafe. On the second point, there is a rule that says cars are not allowed through the gate to the mooring area if there are already four cars in the parking/unloading spaces. However, it is quite hard to see how many vehicles are in these locations without actually going through the gate ( unless you are in a high four by four). A further annoyance is the fifteen minute time limit on parking in these areas. Unless you are moored quite close to the road walking to your boat carrying bags, etc and then walking back again three or four times takes longer than this - unless you are rushing up and down the pontoon - which is unsafe. To conclude, it has the feel of a marina where the owners give the impression (rightly or wrongly) that they don't like boaters much and are much more focussed on other aspects of their enterprise. Thanks for your reply. 1. I had no issue with closing the gate. 2. I always did. 3. My point was not about its location or purpose. It was about being able to see how many cars were already in the parking/ unloading area area from that place from a normal car.
