Fantastic customer service both from the optometrist and retail assistants. All lovely, made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Will defiantly be coming back to choose my glasses. Thanks guys! :)

Staff both rude and lazy. Last weekend we entered the store and shortly after a member of staff went outside to check the window display but she left the door open (lazy). A second member of staff shouted at me from across the store to close the door (very rude). We 'should have gone to Specsavers' and so we did, my wife found a new pair of glasses and the staff at Specsavers were very friendly and welcoming. It was a completely different experience to Howes.

I thought I would try an independent optician to support local business however, I have contacted them via their online form twice now and they have not bothered to respond. I went to Specsavers instead because I was easily able to book an appointment online.

Still a good opticians from a technical perspective, but worryingly casual about Covid. Reception staff don't wear masks (or have them round their necks), and there's no attempt at all at ventilation in the waiting room, where mask-wearing is also optional for patients. Examination rooms (especially the room with eye health machines) are tiny and unventilated. There seems to be good wipe down of surfaces, but as Covid is now known to be mainly transmitted by aerosols that is not enough.
