Having used the garage on a number of occasions in the past I'd always found them helpful, friendly, professional and reasonable rates. Today I called to book an MOT and as usual asked for a day the courtesy car was available as I live in a rural area with no other transport or lift available. I asked if the Speedo on the courtesy car had been fixed as it hadn't worked the previous two times I'd used it and had since found out I was liable for checking the cars roadworthiness and can't risk being stopped and fined or prosecuted. To cut a long arguement short, I was given various excuses and despite trying to be rational I eventually had to hand the phone to my support worker who also tried to reason with the boss but to no avail. I was ultimately told to go elsewhere. I did. An MOT testing station that knowingly gives out a courtesy vehicle which would fail an MOT and has no intention of fixing it, isn't somewhere I'd use or recommend. Be aware that if you are stopped for driving a courtesy vehicle that is faulty, the driver is the person liable, NOT the garage
