Quoted 1,854 by Regent Removals for 4 staff to load/unload up 2,000 cubic feet for a four bedroom house. Couldnt believe it when they turned up with 1 Luton van (600 cubic feet) and a Ford transit (400 cubic feet), half the quoted capacity. It was clearly insufficient. We even left behind our entire main bedroom furniture, a large triple wardrobe, a double wardrobe, a large chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. A third vehicle was initially promised in approximately an hour, but which turned out be several hours. In calls to Regent Removals they kept suggesting that they were doing us a favour by making the effort to arrange another van for us! Eventually, another Luton van arrived but they appeared to be totally unprepared, failing to provide a suitable clothes carrier. We were forced to wrap the remainder of our clothes in dog throws! The final van arrived at our new home at around 8.30pm. Luckily our son was able to pick up the keys from the estate agent before they closed. We complained about the abysmal service and, despite receiving an email that stated I can see there was a string of errors made, and I am mortified to see how badly things went wrong and I am extremely sorry this happened to you, we were provided with a token gesture of compensation of 100, 5% of the removal costs! For various reasons we were unable to respond immediately. However, when we did, Regent Removals response was discourteous, only willing to discuss it face to face in their office and pointing out that if I share my experience of this company online may I remind you that you also have interests online on which reviews can be posted. This is not the reasonable and professional response that I would expect from a company that has acknowledged how badly things went wrong! This day was one of the most traumatic experiences my wife and I have experienced. I would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone else.
