I just had the most awful experience at this store. I recently emailed Aldi about this ongoing appalling issue. However, they ignored my email and refused to respond, which gives some indication of what Aldi think of their customers. Aldi recently opened their new store in Shires Retail Park Warwick, next to their previous store. It was hoped that the anticipated new larger store would mean a much better experience for customers. However, it was much worse instead. The variety of products had not changed at all, despite being a larger store. Instead, they are constantly low on stock ever since opening. But, the worst was yet to come. They had installed new self-service checkouts, with one side accepting cash and card and the other, card only. Today was the final straw. After spending some time doing my usual weekly shopping at the store, I had filled my basket and made my way to the self service cash & card checkout to pay. I was asked by an assistant on the manual checkout next to it if I was paying cash. When I informed him I was paying by cash, I was told that it was "Card Only". This was the third time this has happened. When I could see that every other checkout had queues of trolley's lined up, I gave up and had to abandon my shoppiing and stormed out of the store to shop elsewhere, all because Aldi would NOT accept cash. Is this what it has come to? I will NEVER shop at Aldi ever again.
