Juat a short bus trip takes you to Bedford where there a regular trains into London. Local taxis are just as cheap as the bus.
I can also recommend Plough Inn at nearby Bolnhurst, delicious meal and great staff.
This BnB is a real home from home. A really comfy and well maintained house and gardens with a fantastically comfy bed and on suite shower and toilet if you get the room upstair on the left. We stayed a couple of nights and were not disappointed.
