We have been buying meals from Topa since we moved to the area and are always happy with the food and service. They offer good value for money in terms of food quality and portion sizes, especially for the price point. The burgers and kebabs are good takeaway staples for a Friday night (or a Saturday morning). However, the chef really excels at Indian dishes and he clearly takes pride in these. He is always happy to talk through the menu and make recommendations. We have been particularly impressed by the home made chapatis and naan bread. The range of curry dishes is also excellent. All of the food is freshly prepared and there is a real focus on flavour. Some of the curries are served, perhaps, with a little too much oil. However, this is a quick fix as it can just be skimmed from the top of the container to suit personal taste; a cold spoon works best. The oil does carry a lot of the spice flavour so we tend to leave it in. Our highlight dishes would be the chicken tikka starter and the karahi curries. These offer real value in terms of portion size, flavour and quality. In summary, this is an excellent, local, home grown curry house and we intend to remain loyal customers.
