Wellgate Car Sales

Wellgate Car Sales is a small independent garage ran by a lovely guy named Sol. We found ourselves there through seeing a car on an Autotrader ad that was slightly out of our budget. I'm so glad we went because we not only ended up buying the car, which is great btw and worth the extra , for the piece of mind that we are buying a great car from a reliable and trustworthy dealer. Sol tended to every concern we had, provided a 12 month MOT, had the work done that was brought up on advisories and went over and above to do the morally right thing by us - the customer. 100% recommend, wish this small family business well as it grows. When I viewed the car I purchased Sol showed me one or two very small scratches on the paintwork so I began to trust that he was honest as he was being open about the defects on the car. When I noticed big scrapes across 3 panels on the drivers side he said he'd get that all sorted and you would never know where the damage had been . I accepted his word and trusted him. He delivered my car in the evening , maybe my mistake for trusting he'd done the promised work but before I transfered the balance and began to read the small print he told me he was in a hurry, no need to read it all as it was only the same as he'd given me before. Again I trusted him. Transfered the money and away he went. I went out to move the car and saw all the scratches, mostly down to the metal were still there. He then started to lie saying he'd only said he'd "do his best " and he had done but they wouldn't come out, of course not, it needed completely respraying down the whole drivers side. The body shop also discovered both bumpers were slightly different colours to the main body. The sills also were slightly different colour. The doors were misaligned as was the bonnet! He refused to do anything and claimed he could get the whole drivers side of the car resprayed professionally for 300 or the whole car for less than 1000. Which I would have to pay as id signed the contract that said I'd checked the car and was happy with the car and all paintwork . Sol is not as honest as people think, but he is very very good at drawing you in to think hes completely honest, open and that youre important to him and that you being a satisfied customer is important to him but he really saw me coming and sold me a car that had been in a bad smash not " a few little scrapes by its 99 year old owner" as he'd told me. He is unscrupulous and as soon as he has your money he doesn't care a jot! Yes he rings and asks if you're happy so he can follow that with " when will you write my 5* review?" If there was a -5* option I'd have gone for that. Be careful buying cars from him, they're not always what he leads you to believe.
