Left my old address and gave them my forwarding address to settle up final bill. Billed me 403.96 daily standing charges even though I never had the gas switched on for over 2 years due to the faulty meter not being fixed. A British gas representative called Chenay Downing closed my case before I could even dispute my case fairly. I called and called for hours, days, months, to get my gas meter fixed but they ignored and ignored and ignored. I'm going to the ombudsman and MP. Btw put your complaints about British gas on twitter because the whole world can see what a disgusting and utter disgraceful company that they are.

Well what a disgusting company you are After being with your company for both Gas and Electricity for six years My settings were not recording properly with the indoor reader! Obviously I reported several times and one guy called and guess what he messed it up After my Gas and Electric switched off leaving me in the dark until 7 pm last year!! I rang urgently to POWERGEN,who came out whilst my iPhone was almost dead!!!! Switched back on but still I rang your company to complain bitterly!!!!!! Took me months to ask someone to come out !!!! No recorded settings going through he said spent two hours sorting it outside. Then Im paying by direct debit for Electric and my Gas bill is paid up to date. My Electric the bank informed me that they were trying to take double payment so I cancelled my d/d obviously!! After my conversation last year I wasnt given my warm discount either but was credited to my Gas no I tried calling saying Ill pay monthly by bank card for my Electricity,but you couldnt take my card number correctly! So I couldnt se up a d/d without one payment!!!! Then I received a call some guy from British Gas was at my door expecting me to pay him what!!!!!!!! Threatening me I have power to call, no you dont and I rang British Gas complaining!! How dare you threaten a disabled woman on benefits!!! I have had an online appointment with CAB and raised this with them today!! I rang British Gas today to sort my bill. Great shes received my online application for warm discount again and will be credited towards my Electric account,when accepted. Also waiting for the boss or ombudsman for British Gas to contact me about compensation after the appalling report Ive given to my local MP too. Ombudsman has now raised my case and I have a reference number now. I expect some compensation now and a Resolution as British Gas sent me a letter today were working hard to get things fixed for you Sorry really!!! No theyre not this company British Gas!! I wont forgive them ever!! I have no signed contract and you are just a billing company thats all! You have no powers to come to peoples doors to fit Pre payment meters or threaten people and if they try to force entry its an act of terrorism by default!! They are a government Billing Company and they can not turn the service off!! They have a government license but cannot disconnect you and they know this!! Thats why they never sign a letter. Dont do D/D set up a standing order then your in control!!! They tried taking two D/D off me the same day with my bank alerting me so I stopped paying them until they realise their threats dont work! Dont let them bully you into a pre payment meter and its illegal for any representative to call at your door for fitting them without you having arranged this with them and they know this! Im offering a Standing order not Direct Debit or a meter because they can control those and switch you off! I have finally set up paying by standing order but unless I paid one months money but I said I cant afford that amount so why did you ask how much I could afford so I said okay you are beginning to annoy me ,so eventually I agreed 65 but still a payment plan she said its regulations by The Code of fair trading?!? to put my file towards to credit references as a bad debtor I said no way policy or not and thats their regulations and no way its happening!! Conversation continues pay more a month mentioned a budget plan over say 44 months so out of order its all their fault trying to claim 2 D/D on same day my bank alerting me and I will not be threatened by a billing company you do not supply the gas you know ! Im paying by card and suddenly I receive a threat!
